Grants
One thing that is often unknown about us is how we get our money.
We apply for pots of money and some kind people donate some money/items to us! Here are some of the kind donations we have had this year:
- Warm jackets donated by Alpkit
These jackets have been essential to us getting out an about on the farm, they are lovely and warm and waterproof too
- Embroidery machine donated by British Humane Association
Our new embroidery machine has been a huge hit with our clients since we were kindly donated it! It is perfect for us here at JPC as it threads a needle with the push of a button. No more fiddly bits! We have made lots of things over Christmas and will use it lots more in the future.
- Basketball coach job donated by Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust
One of our clients, Nathan, is a huge wheelchair basketball enthusiast. During his time at JPC Training for Independence, we noticed Nathan’s enthusiasm and we started teaching others. We applied for a grant for Nathan to do this on a bigger scale. This pot of money means Nathan will be able to be paid to deliver a supported programme to teach others at the farm.
- Basketball wheelchairs donated by Hedley foundation
We have been donated two wheelchair basketball chairs along with some basketball equipment. These are perfect for Nathan’s basketball coaching
- Tile Project- Victoria Wood Foundation
Our ongoing project is our Tile project. Every client creates a tile which will be hung on a wall at the farm. This will create a living piece of art which will be added to in many years to come. These donations mean that all of our new clients can have a blank tile to contribute to our artwork.
