JPC Independence Award 

We have written a new award scheme for all our clients this was launching in September 2021. It has been a huge success and as a team we are developing our skills and Independence in a bespoke way. The most important thing is having fun along the way. 

Our course involves completing a set of specially designed tasks and topics to focus on all aspects of independence. We run each session in a similar way, led by a card and three different tasks. Topics and skills are practiced as many times as the young person needs. All work and progress is monitored both by staff and self-assessment on understanding and independence.  

Since we have started this course in September, we have had great feedback from all clients who feel the course is going very well for them and don’t feel overwhelmed. We love seeing the progress they are making and are very proud of what they have achieved so far! 

Next up in the summer we are going to be looking at public transport and we will be planning and taking some trips to learn some new skills outside of the farm!
