"Here I am in my dream job totally by fate."

Carl Mannion

I started my working life in the joinery and shopfitting industry studieng at Hartlepool college and working for a high end shopfitting company creating bespoke joinery items. After about ten years I moved to an engineering company were I worked my way up to become global despatch manager and transport manager. After eight years of this it was time to move on and return to my trade working for several companies as both site manager and forman roles.  I then started working for myself looking after contract work within the NHS, a job I loved due to the interaction with people from all walks of life and there lies my true passion… people. I have always said that I don’t care if you are a bin man or a brain surgeon as long as you are a good person. I believe that caring for people and compassion is a reflex, a totally natural attitude. I was lucky to come to JPC Community Farm on an of chance to deliver some goods donated by a local shopfitting company and the rest is history, here I am in my dream job totally by fate.

I feel I have found my true vocation in life and every day. I am surrounded by truly inspirational young people who overcome adversity and take it in there stride without question. I think we could and should all take a leaf out of their book and now and then take a step back and be humbled.
