  • March 2015 Shared Dream Of Wanting To Create Respite Centre For Special Needs Children / Adults

    Paul and Julie share idea of wanting to create an outstanding respite centre for children and adults with special needs with David Barker Business Development Director at The Percy Hedley Foundation in Newcastle where son James attends school. David shares Percy Hedley's dream of an all singing and dancing Special Needs village with swimming pool, cinema, shops, cafes and entertainment with indoor and outside play areas. This starts the dream rolling.

  • February 2016 Paul’s Sister Alison Holds ‘making Your Dreams A Reality’ Workshop And Paul Shares His Dream, History In The Making Find Moor Farm Tame Bridge Plans To Create Outstanding Respite Facility Are Born. Jpc Appoints Lee Wardman As Architect

    Paul with his Mum and Dad, Pat and Dave Connaughton attend his big sister Alison's 'Making your dream a reality' Workshop at Incredible Edibles. This is when he shared his and Julie's dream to a room full of strangers and got a massive show of support. That week Paul, Julie, Alison, Pat and Dave scrutinised Paul's idea of going public and all contributed to the JPC Respite Village PR article. The media grabbed it with enthusiasm and Paul and Julie appeared in local newspapers and local radio sharing their dream. Now the search started to find the right property. First property was Jonny Wilkinson's home near Slaley Hall Northumberland, unfortunately not a viable opportunity. Their daughter Abigail points out all their friends and business contacts are in the Teesside and surrounding area, you should look at Moor Farm Tame Bridge near Stokesley, and it looks perfect. Paul, Julie and James meet Phil and Dianne O'Brien of Moor Farm. Phil and Dianne are deeply moved by the families dream and start to help and support them to make the dream complete. Lee Wardman from Wardman Brown appointed as Architect. Planning starts to convert Moor Farm into 12 Independent Supported Living Apartments. Media campaign starts on Radio Tees ,closely followed by TFM, Star FM, The Evening Gazette, Northern Echo and Darlington & Stockton Times newspapers.

    Paul and Julie inspired by friends, family and complete strangers who give them the encouragement to make the dream a reality. Local businesses and wealthy individuals network the story and momentum and interest grows. Paul and his Mum Pat meet Paul Riggall from JBC Accountants and he offers his full support from and accountancy and financial basis. He also shares the story. Andy Morris an ex Parent Governor from Ash Trees School with Paul gets in touch and also offers his support.
  • April 2016 JPC Meet John Carling For Financial Advice And Neal Bullock From Fat Lads On Bikes Create First JPC Logo

    First JPC Respite Village Logo created by Shaun, Neal Bullock's (Fat Lads on Bikes) friend and I meet my new lifelong friend Neal for the first time at Ramside Hall Durham. Paul, Julie and James all by bikes. Paul starts training for the tour of Teesside having not been on a bike for over 20 years. John comes on board and helps to look at Alternative funding options seeing High Street lending can’t or won’t help. Tough time but not prepared to give up. Moto ‘When just enough isn’t good enough’, helps us deal with the doubters.
  • May 2016 Spreading The Dream Meeting All The Commissioning Teams And Jo Martin From Helping Hands Of Harrogate And Paul Does The Fat Lads Tour Of Teesside With Neal Bullock

    Lots of meetings with local authority commissioning teams, special needs families and visiting Special Needs local and regional facilities like Larchfield Community Farm, The Calvert Trust in the Lake District and Stockton United for Change parents group to name but a few. Jo Martin comes on board as consultant re Domiciliary care a great asset. Fat lads on bikes Tour of Teesside with Neal Bullock. The 41.4 miles ride is completed a very proud moment, raising the profile of JPC and Paul getting himself fit. Paul carries on riding and starts planning to do a half Ironman Challenge with James in tow, sometime in 2017.

    Mike English General Manager of Larchfield Community Farm near Coulby Newham, shows us their facility and their new home Daffodil House. Mike promises to help us keep the mistakes to a minimum with his 20+ year’s experience, a great friend to have on board.
  • July 2016 Tees Valley And North Yorkshire Commissioning Teams Meet At Moor Farm For JPC Community Farm Presentation

    Historical first JPC Community Farm gets most of the Tees Valley Commissioning Teams and North Yorkshire Commissioning to all meet at Moor Farm for a full presentation and a tour of the Farm itself. JPC provide afternoon tea (Jamie Coonan from the Olive Branch Deli) another first and the teams react very positively to the project. The farm gets a positive, thumbs up.

    Paul, Julie, Andy Morris, Grandma Pat and Grandad Dave have an inspirational day with some talented 16 & 17 year old Health and Social students, our potential nurses, care workers and social workers, what a privilege to come and share our story. All thanks to Lucy contacting us through Facebook. Lucy asks how she can repay us, we ask her if she’d contact Dr Andrew Shovlin Chief Race Engineer for AMG Petronas F1 Team who was a student at Conyers and had recently re-visited. She makes the approach through Roger one of the teaching staff, we sit and wait for the outcome.

JPC sponsors 150+ selection boxes for Dreams Xmas Party at Eston Leisure Centre. James visits MFC's Riverside Stadium for his first ever football game. What a wet and very cold day it was. Jenny, Jimmy and Tony are great hosts.

  • April 2017 JPC Community Farm Gains Charitable Status Tiff Needell Confirms His Support For Our Motorsport Event And George Hamlyn Joins Jpc Nominated For Inspirational Parents Of The Year For Remebering Rebecca Charity

    JPC Community Farm awarded Charitable status Registered Number 1172634, very proud moment in the projects history. Paul and Julie get their dear friend George Hamlyn to help them launch Teesside's Largest Prestige and High Performance Car Event and Evening Ball at Wynyard Hall's Grand Marquee on the 23/9/17.24 hours later George secures 3 Bentley cars through his son Nigel who works at Bentley GB in Crewe. Nik Boddy from JCT 600 Bentley Newcastle first to sign up for day and evening ball. Jeremy Simpson of Sytner Merc Benz Teesside offers his support as do virtually every other Prestige and High Performance dealerships. Andrew and Becca Diston help with Classic and Vintage car contacts. Andy and Tania Davison pledge to help with Rally car contacts. All hands on deck to make this event spectacular. Paul and Daniel Gibson of Gibson Motorsport our local Motorsports heroes back us and open up a whole new avenue of contacts plus confirm their attendance and will bring along their McLaren P1 GTR as our main attraction. Tiff Needell confirms as our second special guest for our motorsports event. George Hamlyn joins JPC to help organise the Motorsport Event and gets our first client Bentley on board. Paul and Julie nominated as finalists and the first couple for the Inspirational Parents awards for the Remembering Rebecca charity.

    Meet Jeff Breen from Cornerstone Fundraising wants to help JPC Community Farm get the funding it rightly deserves. Has a plan to meet potential funder in June. Confirms meeting on with Kevin Appleby BEST ( Bespoke Supported Tenancies Ltd). Kevin to give us 1 hour to do presentation booked in for early June. Stuart Myers confirms appointment of our first Patron. Very proud moment a very special man and motivational and inspirational public speaker and born with no arms. We meet Brian Trinity of Trinity Car Solutions who kindly donates a Phase 1 Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi as our star auction prize. What a gent Brian is.
  • June 2017 Breakthrough With Funding Opportunity

    Pivotal meeting with Jeff Breen Cornerstone Fund Raising and Kevin Appleby BEST (Bespoke Supported Tenancies Ltd) at Gossip Magazine Offices boardroom. One hour to convince Kevin. Two hours into meeting Kevin gives feedback. He's blown away with the JPC Community Farm project. He felt the presentation and project were 'Flagship quality' and wants to head back to London to ascertain if Funders want to meet us. 48 hours later green light from Kevin, funders want to meet in London early July. Happy Days. Owners of Moor Farm Tame Bridge tell us close to exchanging with property developer, pressure on. Look at alternative Farm on other side of Stokesley more expensive but ticks all the right boxes. Second viewing with owner, she loves the JPC project and wants to help make sale happen if Moor Farm falls through.
  • July 2017 Confirmation Of Funding And Completion Of Ironman Challenge

    Full planning consent given to Moor Farm project unfortunately a day too late as property developer exchanges with owners the day before. Devastated but not meant to be. New Farm falls into place, just in time for meeting with Funders. Paul Riggal JBC Accountants Julie and Paul off to London to meet funders Dimitrios Hatzis SLIL (Supported Living Infrastructure Ltd) and Kevin Appleby BEST (Bespoke Supportive Tenancies Ltd) at St James Place London. Dimitrios and Kevin want to fully support JPC and give green light to offer full financial support to purchase New Farm near Stokesley. Couldn't be happier nipping ourselves is this really happening, historical moment in JPC Project, now no longer a dream. Several visits at New Farm with Senior Management Team all giving it a thumbs up, for location and adaptability. Current owners fully supportive of JPC Community Farm project. Paul completes Ironman Challenge with James 1.2 mile swim with James attached to a dinghy at Bannatynes pool Ingleby Barwick then 56 mile bike ride as part of Stockton's Sportive Cycling event finished off with a 13.1 mile half marathon supported by friends and work colleagues. A truly memorable day and raised an amazing £6360.

    Offer accepted on New Farm near Stokesley. Lee Wardman Architect able to create 19 Independent Supported Living Apartments for 21 clients with a mixture of Individual, shared and respite accommodation available. Preparing for Planning permission to Hambleton Council.
